Celtic Charity Sporting Dinner Event

This blog is going to be on last nights charity dinner which was held at Celtic Park.

Well have I got goss for you lot! Couldn't wait to sit down and tell you'se all about Celtic's Charity Dinner last night! For those of you who don't know every year Celtic has a charity night to help raise funds for charities in Scotland, Ireland and all over the world and this year it was the turn of The British Heart Foundation Scotland.

What a night it was! Unfortunately I didn't get to quite enjoy myself as much as the guests as me and all the other members of staff were too busy running around like headless chickens trying to make sure all of the 450 guests were fed, watered and were most importantly enjoying themselves. However, the fact that we got to serve the players and Neil Lennon made up for this!

As well as the manager and the players the Celtic Directors such as Peter Lawell were there, my good friends The Lisbon Lions, the management staff, comedian Andy Cameron and I'm pretty sure someone said they saw Michelle McManus, but who knows! I was hoping for Kevin Bridges to turn up since he is quite a regular at these Celtic events, however Andy Cameron played the comedian part well. From his jokes about rangers and the tax man to then singing a rather hilarious song about Ally McCoist. I have to admit I couldn't help but chuckle a wee bit until my manager turned round and gave me the look and I think we all know what look I'm talking about.

Now before I get on to what happened last night, here's a sneak peak at the Celtic charity video from last years charity dinner event.

You think that's funny? Wait until you see this years charity video! However for now back to the best parts of the night! I was lucky enough to serve the players and let me tell you they are a greedy bunch. Gary Hooper was asking for roll after roll after roll, he took three in total on top of the four course meal. I honestly don't understand how they are not all obese it's ridiculous how much food they can all eat!

Hooper and Stokes arrived together, sat together and left together. Definitely a wee bromance going on there! Fraser Forrester was quite the gentlemen always thanking us when we served the food and cleaned, couldn't get enough of his Geordie accent. I found out last night that he is the tallest Celtic player in the club's history! Didn't surprise me though as every time he walked through the doors he had to keep ducking. After dinner Neil Lennon went up and made a speech thanking everyone for coming and then comedian Andy Cameron took to the stage and that's when the night started to get really fun.

Overall the night was a great success and everyone managed to raise £60,000 for charity. Well done to everyone who contributed! If you'se think that you'se would be interested in going to an event happening at Celtic then log onto the website for more details!
